Project Overview
The Rozelle Interchange is a key part of the WestConnex project, which is all about upgrading Sydney’s road infrastructure to enhance traffic flow and connectivity. This particular section is being constructed mostly underground, creating new links between the M4-M5 Link, Anzac Bridge, and Iron Cove Bridge. When it’s all finished, the interchange will be nestled beneath a beautiful new 10-hectare regional park.
Given the tight, bustling streets of the inner city and the constant traffic, it was crucial to choose a crash barrier that is lightweight, compact, and easy to install, all while adhering to strict safety standards.
Our Solution
Workzone Solutions provided 200 meters of Lo-Ro water-fillable barriers to secure the site and ensure the safety of workers during road construction.
These barriers have been MASH tested to TL-1 and TL-2 standards, boasting the lowest TL-2 deflection on the market at just 3.6 meters. Their compact height of 876 mm enhances visibility for drivers, which is particularly beneficial in bustling urban environments. With robust interlocking knuckles and three internal steel cables, they deliver exceptional stability and safety while minimizing their footprint in the work zone.
Since they don’t need anchoring, these barriers are quick to set up and relocate, which saves both time and labor on site. Their durable plastic shell is resistant to cracking and corrosion, making them perfect for repeated use in rental fleets and long-term infrastructure projects.
